The purpose of the Sons of Allen is to encourage Christian men to become involved in helping other men find Christ in their lives. The Mission of the Sons of Allen is to reach others through salvation, fellowship, social action, reverential living, and providing knowledge of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. They help to develop leadership skills through mentoring. They encourage social activism and church involvement to ensure enhancement of the Christian community through witnessing and development of church loyalty.
